Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a condition which prevents men from getting or maintaining an erection firm enough for satisfactory sexual intercourse. If erectile dysfunction is an ongoing issue, it can cause stress, affect your self-confidence and contribute to relationship problems. Alma Duo for erectile dysfunction is a non-surgical and non-pharmaceutical treatment for ED.
Most patients will require a total of 6 treatment sessions, 2 sessions per week for 3 weeks. This schedule allows the tissue time to respond to the treatment before exposing it to more shockwaves. The blood vessels will begin to respond shortly after each treatment. The real benefits typically begin 1 to 2 weeks after the final treatment.
Anorgasmia is the medical term for difficulty reaching orgasm after ample sexual stimulation. The lack of orgasms may distress you or interfere with your relationship with your partner.
Orgasms vary in intensity, and women vary in the frequency of their orgasms and the amount of stimulation needed to trigger an orgasm. You will first have to visit with one of the providers to determine if you are a candidate for Duo therapy.
During the treatment, a clear gel will be applied to the penis or vulva. The treatment probe is placed against the skin, sending low intensity shockwaves into the treatment area. There should be no pain at all during the procedure. In fact, most patients do not feel anything at all. Some report that they feel only a slight tingling. There are no numbing creams, needles, or pills.
Each treatment takes approximately 15min.
Following treatments, there is no downtime. You may resume all regular activities right away.
For men, one of the causes of ED is the poor flow of blood into the penis caused by unhealthy blood vessels. By applying multiple low-intensity shockwaves to the penis, new and healthy blood vessels develop (known as neo-vascularization), improving blood flow and performance.
For woman, a cause for difficulty achieving orgasm and painful intercourse (dyspareunia) in women is poor blood flow to the clitoris.
